Now that that’s through, let me talk more personally as me (Doom) rather than some erotic fantasy herald promoting a video game.
I made this game in a month for a game jam. I made a porn game for this jam last year as well, but it was mostly a project for learning, and ended up as a decent showcase if a little barren and overscoped. But boy, what a difference a year of experience makes. In my opinion. Monster layer is THE BEST thing I’ve made to this day, period. And the fact I finished it in a month is a testament to how much I’ve grown.
If you’re reading this when it’s new, I would like to make more Monster Layer. Unfortunately I will be very busy with my personal life in the next little bit. Kinda depends on how the game does too, we’ll see.

I had the idea to have this game have Dungeon Synth, since I thought the ambient trance-like state it puts me in would pair nicely with this game. “Lost in The Forest” is a creative commons artist who I have no relation to. All I’m required to do is give Attribution. However it’s not everyday I look for creative commons music and find an artist I actually like. Kind of relies on getting lucky with perk draws, but if you get a good pregnancy build, it seems to cap out. You'll get the cum-on-7 perk, multiple chance-of-pregnancy (it seems 100%+20% has a 20% of getting twins in one go), and 3-free-on-impreg, and then max out as soon as you finish cumming. I think it might be good to let free cum overflow, and if you have twice as much as needed, it doubles your cum effects.
Having built up other impreg builds, nothing else seems to hit that cap aside from free cum, so it's fairer to call it a free cum build, and the issue is exclusively with the Pregnancy Kink perk falling off once you have high impreg chance.

Bug on the info update: if you open the glossary in the old way by pressing the kobold in the corner, you'll be softlocked as the game no longer registers presses on the perk choices.
Sadly the game doesnt work on here for Phone users sadly :(

Edit: it works, but it just stops working after the first boss. This is just crazy and bit buggy on this website.
For phone, you'll want to use the Compatibility Version that's accessible in the blurb above.
You won't even lose anything for it, as it's kept up to date right alongside this version.

Your options are single click (thrust), and held click (pound)
Your upgrades and gameplan are tied to these interactions. Do not engage in either if a heart is about to pop (thrust has more "active frames") and DO be actively doing something with reversed hearts, when you unlock them.
Other than that, experiment and have fun!
It still seems like the hearts take a significant penalty on you if you aren't doing anything when they explode. What's up with that?
Hearts clearly seem to scale the further along you are in a run, certain monster hearts feeling absolutely egregious by loop 2 and the game as a whole being nigh impossible by four.
Sustain or big bonk is a necessity for every build because of it, and outside of some fine-tuning I sadly don't think there's much to be said about damage taken

Is it me or are their supposed to a lot less of those numbers. All I did was continuously picked the chance based stuff except for the every three thrust is a lucky fuck, and otherwise a -100 on everything else.
I do not remember what in game skills/passives I chose to cause this to happen. So I'm sorry devs but I can't Identify what exactly made it happen

For me the sounds tend to cut in and out all game, the moans from the partners, the jingles from the hearts, and the main game music too.
So far this has only happened to me while using this specific website game. It's never happened when I first downloaded the apk version when it was still up
Three loops into endless and the bee is genuienly just a instant win
Don't forget the lag spike whenever you do get to the instant win numbers
I kind of wish you got a little counter to tell you how many times you impregnated a character. it would be fun to see just how many kids of yours that dragon is gonna have ;3

dawg I played three rounds on endless and then each encounter became auto because I basically got everything in the shop and it was the dang bee
can someone explain if the hearts are a timed mechanic that give arousal or are just there to mess up ur stamina. cause I'm having a hard time dealing with it and its just messing up my runs :<
Hearts deal damage to your stamina. Upright hearts do more stamina demage while you thrusting/pounding. Upsidedown hearts do more stamina damage when you're NOT thrusting/pounding.
A number of perks either reduce the stamina damage, or give you other benefits when a heart of either kind pops.

The filled with egg stacks kinda looks like baked beans.
Eggs break through armor hearts, and touch spamming like with a perfect Sylvia build makes spectral hearts kind of scary
Otherwise? I fricking love this new character, beat my first L10 run with her and it felt like a struggle the whole time, peak balancing~
Edit: L10 and FOUR loops, yeehaw! With enough honey and arousal stacks (and or the touches maybe) I was able to deal damage through the phase three transition. Not much, but I figured you'd want to know so you can iron things out!

I love the game but I don't understand the characters abilities if it possible can you write down their abilities maybe on the readme file if you don't have time to put it in game. most my runs end up gest grabbing abilities that give me more stamina. when I try the new bee character that lay eggs I have not been able to egg a monster in all my runs.
When you get to the shop, if you click on the homonculus and look at your own perks, there is a glossary section that explains every notable word/build in more depth. A bit out of the way and not explained well, but it does explain each section
*btw: egg is a replacement of the "Free Cum" mechanic so Thrusts only, some perks will give eggs and you can have a maximum of 3 and when you thrust you deposit all egg stacks to add the egg stack buff to the lay. Said buff is kind of like the moon stacks for the werewolf in that they don't do anything without other perks, but perks can trigger off of eggs like "%chance to regain stamina for every egg stack".

Could it be possible to also get Honey/Eggs statistics at the end of a run just like we do with every other source of pleasure? I always like looking back at those numbers after a run~
Also is this game gonna get any kind of balance patches? I assume not given you've mentioned the game's end of development is nearing but just in case:
In my personal experience Barks Coxely is extremely good, I don't know what it is but out of about 7 to 11 runs (I don't have the exact count because my first few were on the browser) he's won 100% on them, with the latter 5 to 6 being on Lusty 10.
In the other hand, Sylvia Crown is extremely underpowered (or maybe I'm forcing the wrong builds which is always a no-go but whatever). I've won 2 out of 8 runs with her. Speaking of which, her Egg mechanics feel a bit awkward to use in the sense that if you often get Egg stacks your Thrusts get interrupted by laying the Eggs, which don't count as Thrusts and thus making those two sides entirely incompatible. On the flip side Honey and Pounding + Touch seems to be what works but I always end up getting tempted by the Egg mechanics towards the end of a run, always blindly hoping that "it will work this time"
I got a bit carried away writing this I guess... I was only trying to mention the end-of-run-statistics thing. But I also have a Google Spreadsheet were I keep track of my runs and choices so I also care maybe a bit too much about the strategical side of things... Great game btw!

i'm not gonna lie, i like the game, but the window for parry is too small and 9/10 times you'll fail and always lose stamina, i would really like to have a bigger or at least a bit more obvious chance to parry

apparently if you stop just before the heart blow there is no damage, but the window is so small that is almos imposible, is more luck than ability
and here i thought i was lucky when i got the timing such that i only had to pause for ~0.3 second for a heart.
are you sure you didnt just have a "restore stamina when hit by heart" upgrade?
You still take damage, just a small amount, its simply not being actively inside them when it pops

Progress? I've kept my highest difficulty since the difficulty update dropped.
Maybe there's something with your browser settings? It could be cached inside the browser you use, because I clear my cookies fairly often and I haven't had any issues, but that's still just a guess
Your probably using incognito mode, that's a reason you could be losing progress on it

I'm not sure whether it is an intentional nerf or a bug, but it seems like Luck fails as you get further in Endless, like 3rd or 4th replay on I wanna say the 7th lay. I had an insane build that had Touch and Arousal kinda infinite loop before I even started moving and could do like 11k pleasure (arousal would be like 500+), but eventually when health exceeded that I couldn't generate anymore arousal or love and none of my luck stuff procced, which meant I sat there seeing a normal lay with 0 negative traits just beat me because I couldn't do anything and hearts (even with the ignoring perk) were doing like 20% of my stamina each.
Also it'd be nice if there was a way to go back to the menu/restart a run, and maybe I'm playing them wrong but the hypnosis character seems much worse than the other two (see: infinite loop I just said for first one, but even the wolf can get powerful moon or frenzy builds while musk/hypno take too long to get online).
That all said, love the game, up to 5th difficulty.

Okay, I do love this game. It's amazing, and I think it has some real potential... just because I love it, it makes me see it's flaws even more. (well, what are flaws from my perspective). Biggest one being, you can't see what perks you have in the middle of a run. Memorizing everything I've picked isn't that fun.
Second biggest flaw is that going from lusty 1 onward, the hearts expect a level of precision that just isn't in the game. Like, if a heart appears immediately followed by a reverse heart, I can try to resume the rutting immediately afterwards but often I feel like I can't get to fucking fast enough- which isn't helped by the game's lack of definition of what "fucking" entails. I think adding in some feedback (new soudn effect, hearts looking differently when you don't do what they want you to, etc) would help a lot

The first concern you have is already addressed, just not well communicated. You can see which perks you have by tapping/clicking on our little pink shopkeep. (Whom, I might add, you can also pet.)
